NetClean is a Swedish company which develops technical solutions to stop the sexual exploation of children online. Our solutions is used by hundred of thousands of people around the world.
In 2002 it all started when Christian Sjöberg got the idea of how to prevent the spread of abusive images on the internet. The problem had grown dramatically the last couple of years and taken a secret area of interest, to grow into a mass market. A holistic approach was needed and a solution that could combine helping the police and NGO´s around the world, to be able to offer a powerful protection to companies and to be able to take a clear stand against child sexual abuse content.
In June 2003 the idea was presented to World Childhood Foundation, which was founded by H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden. A partnership was established and Childhood supported the idea both financially and with important contacts. A cooperation with Save The Children, who at the time were responsible for the Swedish Hotline, was at this time also established. At the same time the development of a software that could help companies and municipalities started.
In May of 2005 the software that protects companies and municipalities was launched at a pressconference including H.M. Queen Silvia Of Sweden, Stefan Strömberg, Chief of Police, Sweden, Marie Ehrling, President TeliaSonera Sweden and Gunilla von Arbin, World Childhood Foundation.
